Why and when did you purchase this car?
Why and when did you purchase this car?
June 2004, Couldnt afford a "proper" corrado vr6 so I saw this one (purple being my fav colour) and have been doing it up ever since.
Did you always intend this to be a project?
Yes. It was completly stripped out in the pictures the seller sent me. It was a bare shell with a good engine. Not much fun trying to put a car back together and finding out whats missing on the way. but hey, This is how I learnt all about it. Have you owned any other VW’s?
Yes. What other cars have you owned?
I have previously owned a mk3 1.4 and a mk3 gti (dusky mauve - that purple thing again :)). Dont think Im doing too badly for my 3rd car. Have you owned any other unusual cars?
Afraid not.
Is this car your daily driver? (If not, what is?)
(If not, what is?) Sort of. This is my one and only car :) (I get the train to work) Would you call yourself a VW Enthusiast?
Indeed :)
When did you start modifying this car?
Erm....When I got it as I already had a set of TT comps to go on from my mk3 gti.
Did you have any particular style in mind when you started modifying this car?
Lol yes....I was going for the "mean" look.
Who & what has inspired you to do the things you have?
I thought I'd give the boys a run for their money and I wanted to know my car inside and out.
Have you had help building this car?
hmm...the leccy man for the god awful state the interior wiring was in (took 4 months to sort out), the bodyshop for sorting out some panels and pulling the rear arches (thanks to Chris at The Phirms Bodyshop) and my other half who, after first meeting me and getting introduced to Zed (my corrado), bought me the charger as a b'day present as he knew I couldnt justify spending that amount of money but also knew I really really wanted one and who inherited the job of helping me fit it.
Did you have any problems tuning this car?
No. Wayne at Chipwizards did a top job and set it up allowing for the current belt slip. Are you happy with your car?
Yes. Very much so. It is very satisfying having a car you know inside and out and knowing you did most of the work yourself rather than having a "cheque book ride". of course there are still a few little bits to sort out.
![]() What are your future plans for this car?
Erm....Charge cooler and another refurb on the wheels. Apart from that I just want to enjoy driving it as it should be driven after the new belt is fitted and now the head gasket, chain tensioner and thermostat have been replaced. If you could wind the clocks back what would you change?
The stupid front windscreen with the blue top tint that I got talked into when I replaced it when I first got it :)
Do you enter this car into shows? If so, what shows and what results?
Zed goes on a few club stands but thats about it. Volksdevil show, Inters, E38, Stonor and Dubs in the Park is where he will be this year.

Have you had other car projects? If so, what? Not really, just the odd modding here and there on my previous mk3s. Do you have any projects coming up? Only the Ninja 900 we just bought. Do you owe anyone thanks for this car?
The bloke for crashing it in the first place and allowing it to be mine :)
Performance figures for your car? Currently 284bhp and 261.7 lbft (this was done with the belt slip and with the head gasket, chain tensioner and thermostat needing replacing too - i wasnt aware these needed doing at the time of the run). I'll get it on another run when the new belt is on and keep you updated.
What advice would you give others who are thinking of modifying their own car?
Do it all yourself and take your time to do it properly. It is more satisfying than booking it in somewhere for the work to get done.
What’s the best feature of your car?
Z-engineering stage 2 charger and his "mean" look.
