Why and when did you purchase this car?

I bought my car just over two years ago now. I got the idea from a friend

who had bought a Volkswagen Polo. He started to change a few bits and

pieces and I liked what I saw, so I decided to go for it and went out and

bought the car you see now.

Did you always intend this to be a project?

I always knew that I would not leave the car standard. The original plans for

the car were not good. 17" wheels, lexus light's, the whole rude boy scene,

but luckily I found the euro look and that seemed good to me.

Have you owned any other VW’s?

My first road legal car was a 1300 1970 VW Beetle and I loved that car. I

still miss it to this day and one day I will buy another.

What other cars have you owned?

My first car was a Ford Fiesta, then I had a Mini City. After those I was

blessed with my VW Beetle, but then I needed a diesel for work so I bought a

Citroen ZX 1.9 diesel. After that I bought my Polo.

Have you owned any other unusual cars?

No, not really, but you could say that a Citroen ZX is an unusual choice.

Going from a vee dub to a Citroen was not a good idea. Always stick to VW

(German) and you cant go wrong.

Is this car your daily driver? (If not, what is?)

Yes, but I have just got a new job. It is only about 2 miles away so I can

cycle to work meaning lots more modification on its way.

Would you call yourself a VW Enthusiast?

One day I might call my self an enthusiast, but I need to be around for a

bit longer first, but I do love old and new German cars.

When did you start modifying this car?

Straight away. As soon as I knew I was having the car I ordered a set of

wheels. They were only cheap but they did the job.

Did you have any particular style in mind when you started modifying this car?

Yes, I wanted the whole Essex rude boy image, 17" rims, lexus lights and two fat pipes out of the back and a massive install.

Who & what has inspired you to do the things you have?

Just seeing how my friend's Polo was turning out made me want to do it even

more, and it always helps when others take an interest in your car.

Have you had help building this car?

My friend Don Vito is a mechanic and has helped me a lot with this car and

others like Jez and my Uncle Paul.

Did you have any problems tuning this car?

No, everything's pretty easy to get either from scrap yards or internet

forums or just direct from Volkswagen.

Are you happy with your car?

I am very happy with how my car's turned out. I would love to spend loads more money on it, but the time for a new car is drawing near.

What are your future plans for this car?

Nothing more. The car will be up for sale soon.

If you could wind the clocks back what would you change?

My suspension is rock hard and you feel everything, I would spend more

money on the coilovers next time.

Do you enter this car into shows? If so, what shows and what results?

I have never entered any shows, but I have been on the Club Polo stand a

lot and other shows like, Spring Festival, GTI International, Edition 38.

Have you had other car projects? If so, what?

No, this was my first and last. I have always wanted to modify

a car and now I have finished. The problem is it costs lots of money.

Do you have any projects coming up?

No more projects for a while, but I will get a beetle that I would like to

restore.

Do you owe anyone thanks for this car?

Lots of thanks to Don Vito, Jez and of course my Mum and Dad.

Performance figures for your car?

Oh dear, not good. It's only 65bhp + cat back stainless steel exhaust and a

direct feed air filter, not sure what the bhp is now.

What advice would you give others who are thinking of modifying their own car?

Think about what your doing other wise you waste money. Get advice from

others and look at their cars and pick out what style you like.

What’s the best feature of your car?

It has to be my smooth boot. It was the most work as it was'nt

done properly in the first place, but well worth it now.
